MY HAIR FLOWER ROCKS!!!!!

Friday, April 23, 2010

OH EM GEE! I just got my custom made flowers for my myself and also my girls to wear on the big day!

Can I just say how much I heart All That Zazz who created these beauties for me. She is nothing short of AMAZING, FABULOUS and TALENTED! It truly shows in her products. Her communication is out of this world! She listened to all my wants and needs and granted each and every one of them! What a doll!

Check out my AMAZING hair flower. Something simple, something gorgeous and of course something that sparkles =)

I was so adamant on having my flower be exactly 4 inches. Nothing more and definitely nothing less. She's so cute. In every one of her "convos" to me, she made sure she included a picture that my flower was exactly 4 inches. {LOVE}

I am beyond ecstatic to have found amazing seller/designer/creator such as Christina. She made this experience a pleasant breeze. She has got to be my favorite experience thus on etsy.

Oh, and did I tell you.... since I ordered in bulk and caught one of her awesome deals, I only paid $83 for 9 flowers?! I repeat, $83 for 9 flowers. Gah, it doesn't get any better than that ;)

Thanks Christina for making my day that much more special.

MY CUSTOM MADE GARTERS ARE HERE!!

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Choosing a garter was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I thought all you needed was a piece of material to hug your leg and throw to a hungry pack of wolves? If that's the case, shopping for a set should be easy, right? WRONG!

I searched two whole weeks for the perfect garter set until I made the verdict! I asked myself, why did it take you so long to make a decision? I guess the only way to answer that is: I was looking for something more personable rather than your typical "Go Sports Team" garter or the one with tons of lace on it. I wanted something a bit modern, of course elegant and wanted to call this piece my very own.

It wasn't till I crossed paths with Lola in Lace who agreed on helping make my garter dream a reality.

She was such a doll during this whole process. She granted each and every one of my wishes.

Material: Satin
Color: Ivory
Bow: Ivory and White
Embellishment: Rhinestones of course ;)
Personalized: Sterling Silver "N" Initial

I purchased two. One to toss and one to keep. Isn't it just perfect?!

Since it's arrived, I have tried it on 3 times. HA! That's how much I love this thing!!

Thanks Kelli for making my garters PERFECT!!

HAIR & MAKE UP TRIAL!!!

Monday, March 1, 2010

Yesterday, My MOH and myself headed to Vizions Hair Salon in Hayward, CA to meet up with my oh so fabulous hair dresser, Matt.

And then we took a 30 minute ride to Milpitas, CA to meet our gorgeous MUA, Jenny from A-List Make Up {thanks for the reco Vera Devera}

This is the style I will be wearing for the ceremony. I will be wearing a cathedral veil with a detachable blusher.

This is the style I will be wearing for the reception. The only difference is I'll be wearing an ivory flower of course.

Close up on my smoky eye.

Side view.

Ahhhh

And now to my gorgeous cousin, best friend and Maid of Honor, Jennifer!

Close up on her eyes.

Her overall look. Isn't she so pretty?

MY LOOK WILL HAVE A FEW MINOR CHANGES:

Hair:
- Feathered out bangs
- Ivory flower

Make Up:
- EYES: A bit more smokey under the bottom eye lid
- BLUSH: Definitely two shades darker
- LIPS: Two shades darker

Hopefully it'll all looks great in person as it looks in my head. eeek! lol

AHHH! The Eagle has landed!!!!

You have no idea how ecstatic I am to have her in my presence. She is a beauty. It was a long and trying road trying to find her, but I did and she ain't going no where. As soon as I got off of work, I drove straight to my mothers house, ran to her room, jetted to the closet and threw on my wedding dress. {{sigh}} I wonder how long this will last for.

As posted in here, I had revealed a little sneaky peak to get the party rolling, well now, I think I'll let you see a little more. {hehehe, sounds kind of raunchy, huh? lol}

Here she is!

As you already know, this is just the beginning stages of this dress. By the time I am through with her, it will surely be one of a kind. And she's all mine. {hmmm, now I just have to name her. lol}

Thanks mom for this beautiful addition. She is a beauty. What would I do without you! {{{hugs & kisses}}}

*** now I just have to find a dress form to display her in my wedding room... eBay, here I come!!

MAKE ME UP!!!

Monday, January 18, 2010

Before I go go.... {<--- I love that song!}

Today, LET'S TALK MAKE UP!

This week, I've be on the prowl for an out of this world make up artist. I never knew searching for one would be so difficult. But of course, with my luck, it has! ;)

I have gotten back a ton of responses but none I'd be most interested in. The one I do want to book {oh so badly} is Sherrie Long which was recommended by our lovely Vera Devera from My $10K Wedding. However she is charging me close to $500 for just me. This includes hair and make up. Unfortunately, all I need her for is to make me up but it looks like she doesn't split packages when it comes to the bride. {what a heart breaker}

There have been a few others I've tried to contact but have yet to hear back from. So instead of the anticipation of awaiting their responses, I decided to do a little make up inspiration soul searching.

I have narrowed it down to three looks. And yes, all looks are displayed on this one single girl. HA! Do you see a trend? ;)

{natural tones with a smoky eye}

{Tan face with a heavier smoky eye}

{pink frost look}
Obviously, all 3 looks look pretty much the same, but in my opionion they all have slight differences.

Which one would you chose?

Accessorize Me!! MY JEWELRY!!

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

A few days ago, I posted about my dress aka "her". You can read about it here.

After posting about her, I decided it was only right to reveal my wedding day accessories.

Now, call me crazy, but I bought all my accessories waaaay before I decided on a dress. hahaha. I knew what kind of dress I had in mind but just hadn't made that move to purchase. So with that in mind, I said to myself "Self, what the heck, if I see a peice of jewlery you like and you think it would go well with your soon to be dress, then WHY NOT?! Go for it!" And so I did!

****
My first wedding purchase {i bought this back in December 2008} was bought through a talented jeweler from Dana Saylor Designs which I found on etsy. This bracelet was made with a crystal brooch, swarovski crystal spacers and 5 strands of shinny pearls.

I've invested in these drop dead GORGEOUS "Jen" chandilier earrings through Prim & Pixie back in March 2009. These beauties drop 2.75 inches long.

And last but not least, I leave you with my drool worthy wedding day stilettos. I purchased these bad girls through my local Bakers Shoes store 2 months ago in October of 2009. They call her Tammi.

I figured since I'll be wearing somewhat of a simple dress that I should spice it up and accessorize myself in a few show-stoppin' peices that will surely make a statement!

What do you think? Blingtastic?

I FOUND HER!!

Saturday, January 2, 2010

That's right ladies! I finally found the dress I'll be marrying my future hubby in. After a full year of anxiety and never feeling like I'd ever find "the one", she came to my rescue on a day I wasn't shopping for myself! A day I'd least expect to find her. HA! Funny how things happen when you least expect it.

I was shopping with a couple of my best bridesmaids, Johna and Amy and my cutie brother Jacob for bridesmaid dresses. Of course we were on the hunt for dresses made by BARI JAY! Only the best for my girls ;) Anywho, we found their dresses {which I will post about in a few} and to everyones surprise, we FOUND MINE as well!

It was an AMAZING feeling when I was putting on the dress. A feeling that I never had with the other millions I had tried on before. Johna was assisting me with trying her on. And the moment she finished zipping up my dress, I turned around, looked in the mirror, and I knew, this, was a magical moment. I knew this was the feeling every bride speaks of when they say "they just knew it was the one". But what really sealed the deal with her was when I caught my baby brother shedding a tear. {{love him}}

"I" knew it was the one. My bridesmaids knew it was the one. My baby brother knew it was the one.... but in the end, my parents input means the world to me so I wanted to get their approval.

3 weeks later, I was graced with my parents company as I tried her on once again. I was reassured by my mothers face. Her happiness was written all over it. She cried 3 times! 3 TIMES!! My father immediately gave me his blessing {{no tears from him, darn it!}}

Well, to say the least, we all left feeling really good about our decision we made.

P.S. I even had my little flower girl come. She wanted to practice =)

Here is a sneak peak....

What you see now is only the begging of how it will look on the day of. Changes will be made

The Look

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

I'm going for the Old Hollywood Glam look for my wedding day. Marilyn Monroe has been my biggest inspiration thus far. Need I say more?...

So after a lot of thought, I decided to go with this hairstyle.

...and with these silk orchids placed in the same position on the hairstyle above. Can we say...FAAABulous?!!

I got this vintage inspired bracelet made from the wonderful Dana Saylor, a seller from Etsy, to complete the look.
