Classic Songs that brings a smile to my face.

When I hear these songs I think of love, romance, smiles and dancing on moonlight streets, lined with old vintage lamp posts. AND I also think of weddings!


I will make sure to add if not one of these songs to my play list, ALL of them. People say it's typical, cliche, expected... but I say HOW CAN ONE RESIST? They're timeless pieces that will be played forever!

Brides and grooms are starting to realize how expensive weddings can be, so you will be seeing alot more cost-savings in wedding planning this year. The following trends were taken from the WeddingReport.

1. Smaller weddings with a small group of invited guests

2. Popular colours will be blue and greens.

3. Increased use of online RSVPs vs. traditional mail-in RSVPs

4. Seeing more cheesecakes, cupcakes and miniature cakes as popular desserts

5. Destination weddings or destination type weddings closer to home

6. Buffet meals, Hors doeuvre, and cocktail receptions

7. Accent colours used in wedding dresses and cakes

8. October becomes the new June

9. Off-peak weddings; Mornings, Afternoons, Fridays, Sundays

10. Increased use of green and echo friendly products and services

DIY - Flower Girl Baskets

I'm going to be completely honest when I say, I was not in any way searching for flower girl baskets. That was probably the least concerns... until I walked into Michael's Craft Store and laid my eyes on these!

 

The baskets matched perfectly and the style was right on point!! And when you think that's more than enough to seal the deal, uh, think again! Thanks to the HUGE sale going on for ALL holiday trimmings, I walked away with both baskets marked down to $1.79 each. Originally priced at $5.99each!!

And all my DIY consisted of threading purple ribbon through the bottom of the basket which I purchased at Beverly's Fabrics for $1.64. hehe. That's it! That's all!!

Not bad for 6 bucks, eh?! 

Inspired by the Cathedral Veil

Let's talk cathedral veils. Why did you choose to have a cathedral veil oppose to having the fingertip, blusher, fountain, waltz or birdcage veil??

As for me, As a little girl, I always imagined myself wearing a long princess cathedral veil. A few years back I fell in love with the fingertip veil and thought THIS IS IT! This is the veil I will someday wear. However, passing through Kohler's bio on Project Wedding, it has reconfirmed why I loved cathedral veils so much! Can we say GORGEOUS!!

Mini Cakes are IN and Cupecakes are OUT!

It seems to me that the cupcake faze is slowly making it's way out the door and is being replaced with mini cakes. Could this be true. Could the mini cake be the new cake trend of 2009? Hmmm, looks like we'll just have to wait and see. But while we are waiting... here's something to think about.

FAVORS! I've been trying to brainstorm a unique favor to give our guests. However, it seems like the same favors are done over and over again. The only difference is the color scheme and the change of names on the tags. There's nothing exciting about that, now is there? So, wouldn't it be such a great idea, if not being served as the wedding cake, letting the guests take home one of these mini cakes? Maybe it could be presented in a simple clear favor box...
