Accessorize Me!! MY JEWELRY!!

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

A few days ago, I posted about my dress aka "her". You can read about it here.

After posting about her, I decided it was only right to reveal my wedding day accessories.

Now, call me crazy, but I bought all my accessories waaaay before I decided on a dress. hahaha. I knew what kind of dress I had in mind but just hadn't made that move to purchase. So with that in mind, I said to myself "Self, what the heck, if I see a peice of jewlery you like and you think it would go well with your soon to be dress, then WHY NOT?! Go for it!" And so I did!

****
My first wedding purchase {i bought this back in December 2008} was bought through a talented jeweler from Dana Saylor Designs which I found on etsy. This bracelet was made with a crystal brooch, swarovski crystal spacers and 5 strands of shinny pearls.

I've invested in these drop dead GORGEOUS "Jen" chandilier earrings through Prim & Pixie back in March 2009. These beauties drop 2.75 inches long.

And last but not least, I leave you with my drool worthy wedding day stilettos. I purchased these bad girls through my local Bakers Shoes store 2 months ago in October of 2009. They call her Tammi.

I figured since I'll be wearing somewhat of a simple dress that I should spice it up and accessorize myself in a few show-stoppin' peices that will surely make a statement!

What do you think? Blingtastic?

I love MY BIG FAT JUGS!!

Monday, January 4, 2010

hehehe, did I get your attention? lol

So, months ago I came across these pictures

and knew right then and there, THESE would be perfect for my bridal shower aka my little garden tea party!
So after months of making a mental note of this, I randomly came across these juice jugs from Bed Bath and Beyond for only $19.99 each. Not a bad price since I'll be reusing these babies for future parties we'd be hosting ;) After a few minutes of debating {and when I say a few minutes, I mean a few seconds!} I decided to get them! 3 of em!

The jugs are approximately 14 inches high and the stand alone gives it an additional 9 inches in height.
After much thought, I came to the conclusion that these jugs just couldn't be alone. They needed some company. Some "pretty" company. So why not use my pretty little coffee pot?

and next to it, I'll display sugar cubes like so.... {this will be a simple DIY project by using sugar frosting to recreate the rose effect}}

And with all of the above, I believe I will have the perfect beverage bar for my bridal shower!
What do you think?
If you're interested in purchasing the above juice jugs, there are described as the Del Sol 6-Quart Cold Beverage Dispenser with Stand. Check em out here.

DIY: Wedding Party Newsletters

Since our wedding party is pretty much scattered all over the country, we decided to update them through newsletters. We've actually found this as a fun way to have everyone on the same page and also to get to know one another.

Such as our first newsletter...

Here is our front cover: tables of contents, message from us and a before and after shot of us.
Page 2nd and 3rd: Introducing TEAM GROOM! We also included interesting facts about each groomsman

Page 4th and 5th: Introducing TEAM BRIDE. We also included interesting facts about each bridesmaid.

Page 6: Here is where they found random updates such as: wedding party contact info, sneak peaks, wedding websites and dates to remember.

OUR SECOND NEWSLETTER!!

This newsletter was a little more detailed. Probably a little more overwhelming to some.

1st Page: Table of Contents and a message from us!

Page 2 & 3: Wedding Party Attire to include personal flowers

Page 4 & 5: Meal selections, personalized crossword puzzle, bachelor party (Vegas) and bridal party (Disneyland)

Page 6: Bulletin: Cocktail entertainment, dates to remember, video montage shoot and answer to the crossword puzzle.

Making these were a ton of fun. I suggest every bride and groom create one of these. It's not only great for your bridal party but it also reminds you where you're at in your planning. Or at least it did in mine! =)

I FOUND HER!!

Saturday, January 2, 2010

That's right ladies! I finally found the dress I'll be marrying my future hubby in. After a full year of anxiety and never feeling like I'd ever find "the one", she came to my rescue on a day I wasn't shopping for myself! A day I'd least expect to find her. HA! Funny how things happen when you least expect it.

I was shopping with a couple of my best bridesmaids, Johna and Amy and my cutie brother Jacob for bridesmaid dresses. Of course we were on the hunt for dresses made by BARI JAY! Only the best for my girls ;) Anywho, we found their dresses {which I will post about in a few} and to everyones surprise, we FOUND MINE as well!

It was an AMAZING feeling when I was putting on the dress. A feeling that I never had with the other millions I had tried on before. Johna was assisting me with trying her on. And the moment she finished zipping up my dress, I turned around, looked in the mirror, and I knew, this, was a magical moment. I knew this was the feeling every bride speaks of when they say "they just knew it was the one". But what really sealed the deal with her was when I caught my baby brother shedding a tear. {{love him}}

"I" knew it was the one. My bridesmaids knew it was the one. My baby brother knew it was the one.... but in the end, my parents input means the world to me so I wanted to get their approval.

3 weeks later, I was graced with my parents company as I tried her on once again. I was reassured by my mothers face. Her happiness was written all over it. She cried 3 times! 3 TIMES!! My father immediately gave me his blessing {{no tears from him, darn it!}}

Well, to say the least, we all left feeling really good about our decision we made.

P.S. I even had my little flower girl come. She wanted to practice =)

Here is a sneak peak....

What you see now is only the begging of how it will look on the day of. Changes will be made

MY 2010 Count Down

Recapping back on my New Years Eve experience was amazing. I was surrounded by my family, friends, neighbors... everyone who meant something to me was there counting down the hours which lead into minutes, which lead into seconds......

It was a bitter sweet goodbye to 2009 but an overwhelming hello to 2010. Only because I know my life will change forever, for the better... when I marry Ramon. It will be an honor to be called his wife.

A shout out for Ramon: This year I dedicate to you! I love you baby!
