UGH! My Florist Escapade has RESTED!

Early last year, Ramon and I booked a florist as well as a Day of Coordinator to help our wedding day dreams come true. They lived about 2 hours away from us so it was very difficult to schedule a meeting with them. After many attempts, I scored on a meet up. That one fell through so we scheduled another one. And to my surprise, the day before, they dropped the ball on us and said they were no longer in business. Granted the reasons why they were leaving was absolutely understandable and I was nothing short of excited for their near future, however, in the back of my head I was scarred sh*tless. I was scarred that my wedding was not going to be all that I thought it would be. Yea, loosing one vendor, I could live with. But loosing two in the same day? HA! I'm sure you could imagine and some of you could relate to my stress.

So in good old "Jaryce" fashion, I scurried the yellow pages, surfed the net and read review after review until I stumbled upon 3 potential florists.

It wasn't until I met Laura Miller of Laura Miller Designs who immediately eased my anxiety and calmed my nerves. She graciously invited us to her home {very cute and cozy, which I may add} where she had charmingly displayed all her work.

After speaking with her for about an hour, we already knew, that she was the one! She was our saving grace, the answer to our prayers!

Back in January 2009, I had posted about the color blooms we chose. You can catch up on that post here. And in this meeting, "Oh Lucky Me", that's all we spoke about. The colors, textures and kinds of blooms we wanted.

We decided to carry on our color scheme through our flowers. We wanted something fresh, romantic, abundant, lush and elegant. And through that, we came to the conclusion of using the following flowers to grace us in all it's beauty!

We also decided on 4 different centerpieces that will be displayed on the 21 guest tables. 2 of which will be displayed as high centerpieces, one will act as a low centerpiece and the last will be a candle lit centerpiece. Our arrangements will be lush and extravagant. I can't wait to see it all in action come JUNE!!

Phew, you have no idea the relief I have of booking such a phenomenal, talented and sweet florist.

Our Gorgeous Linens!

I had the honor of working the "San Francisco Wedding Fair" which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel. It was a blast working for great people such as Connie and Karla. They sure know how to run a show! And please believe I was right by their side all the while taking mental notes. {Why? Because one day I inspire to be just like them! Successful coordinators who are top of their game!}

Any who, I managed to sneak away a few minutes for personal reasons. And that personal reason was my wedding! hehe. I just couldn't resist. All day I was drooling over this certain piece of art. This certain something that you can honestly say "it made my mouth drop!"

Isn't she a sight to see? They call her a specialty linen that consists of hand crafted crystal beading. I give all credit to this amazing vendor, Hartmann Studios.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get any details. All I had time for was a quick snap shot of my dream linens, grabbed a few business cards and left a short yet genuine promise that I would be in touch with them sooner than later.

1st Food Tasting!

and the last!!

Ramon and I had our first tasting not too long ago. Fortunately, we were accompanied by his lovely mother and his gorgeous sister. We thought it was important to bring along fresh taste

buds.

At our arrival and in good old blackhawk {our venue} fashion, we were greeted at the door by our "oh so lovely" venue coordinator, Shannon. She's an absolute a doll to work with. Shannon escorted us to our private tasting dinning area. First thing she did was introduced us to our waiter and their talented chef who would be preparing our meals the day of. She basically walked us through the tasting process, took our drink order and was on her way so that we may privately enjoy our tasting amongst ourselves.

We indulged in several savory entrees and desired to keep them all {if we lived in a perfect world, of course} Well, yeah, that dream didn't last very long as we were quickly slapped

in the face with reality. Our reality was that we were only allowed to serve 4 dinner plates and 1 of which had to be catered to our veggie eaters. {pooie} So in "REALITIES" reality we had to narrow it down to 3! JUST 3! And with a reluctant heart, we did as we were told. No complaints here! We are offering our guests a beef plate, a chicken plate and a seafood plate.

Introducing our drool worthy menu selection!

Option #1: 12 ounce ROAST PRIME RIB OF ANGUS

served with natural juices and cream horseradish sauce

Option #2: Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut Fillet

served with citrus avocado salsa

Option #3: Chicken De Parma

Boneless chicken breast stuffed with proscuitto, fontina and garlic crusted with pine nuts and herbs marsala shallot demi glaze

And of course our entrees will be served with a beautifully displayed Greek salad accompanied by an assortment of hot, fresh, baked breads.

To all the brides that will or have been offered a food tasting, I 100% recommend to attend. Not only because of the fun and memorable experience or the delicious foods you'll partake in, but because you get to choose the best of the best for your guests. After all, you're paying for it. You should be secure and confident in what you present to your guests! =)

These items would make a perfect rendition to my garden tea party themed bridal party. Granted, they're a little on the pricey side pushing at 85 cent a piece, however, my love for these laser-cut cupcake wrappers are growing each day.

If you've been following this blog, you'd know me by now. And if I love it, I need it.

So this is what I am thinking. If I purchase 4 dozen cupcake wrappers at 85 cents a piece, I will be charged $40.80. But next is shipping and that roughly comes out to $11.30 which brings me to a total of $52.10. AND if I get the 3 tiered cake stand, I'd have to tack on an additional $33 {including tax}. So how much would it cost me for an "Oh So Beautiful" cupcake display?

Drum Roll Please......

And this doesn't even include the actual cupcakes! HA!
