Definition of the White Flower:
- White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection.
- White means safety, purity, and cleanliness. As opposed to black, white usually has a positive connotation. White can represent a successful beginning. In heraldry, white depicts faith and purity.
And so with that... IT'S OFFICIAL! The white florals at our wedding will not be JUST a centerpiece, just a bouquet or just eye candy. It will symbolize a successful beginning of faith, goodness and purity as husband and wife.

That is sweet. I love white flowers, it's so classic and elegant.
I'm with you 100%. I married my first love (we met when we were 13-didn't always date-but you get the picture) so I really wanted white flowers as a symbol of pure, first love. I had the florist begging me to add color. I said, "no way" and glad I did. I had a black and white wedding and the white flowers were beautiful. I even got compliments later. You stick with your instict on this one! You'll be happy you did.
p.s. If you're dying for some color, you can always add it to the centerpieces or escort/seating cards, etc.
I love the arrangements in the third photo - so unique and fun.
ooooh, I love this post, and your blog (which i just discovered) White flowers are my favorite!
